Easter at Memory Mountain

The Completed Cross

An Easter Experience

In April 2023, Indigenous families will come from communities far and wide to celebrate the launch of the Cross on Memory Mountain and to see the lights on the Cross turned on for the first time. This once-in-a-lifetime event will be a celebration of the faith, culture and traditions of the Indigenous people of the NT western desert regions.

Tourist facilities at Memory Mountain are virtually non-existent, as the site is still a work in progress.  Anyone wishing to visit and join in the Easter celebrations, will need to be completely self sufficient, bringing all their own food, water and camping gear.

Each evening there will be Sing Along – a remarkable experience with faith-filled Indigenous people singing songs of praise and worship in their own language and in English. On Saturday night there will also be guests artists playing. And on Easter Sunday there will be a traditional church service in the open air, with baptisms.
